I’m not proud to be a Singaporean

Yes, I admit it; sometimes I’m really embarrassed to be a Singaporean. I love the country because it’s safe, but I really cannot take certain people.

I know, some Singaporeans just disgust the hell out of me. Seriously, I see and hear things that just make me wonder if some Singaporeans really have brains.

Let’s take one example; I was trying to get off a shuttle bus and people outside just came rushing in, leaving me and my friend stranded inside, what’s worse is that they actually scolded for us for blocking their way. I shouted you’re freaking stupid to one of the maids who totally ignored me and went to the back.

However, I have to applaud this Singaporean who actually had the brains to stop the people from entering and allow of us to exit. I’m not complaining, I’m merely trying to show you how some Singaporeans can be so dumb and selfless.

Happy Birthday Singapore

Alright, a quick update before I go to bed.

First of all, Happy National Day!
I will be uploading some photos tomorrow on today’s event.
A quick summary about today’s happenings.
1. AMK
2. Home
3. IKEA
That would be all for now because I’m really getting tired.

Look at this video!

PDA

Well, for people of this generation, you should know what PDA means. Still, for those who do not understand what this abbreviation means, it stands for Public Display of Affection (PDA).

I know many people have different views about it, if you can, leave a comment at the end of this post. You should see a “comment” button or just post on my tagboard if it’s more convenient.

I’ll talk about my own stand on this issue.

If you go to Singapore Stomp’s site, I’m sure you’ll see many articles about people kissing in public etc. I think Singapore is moving towards a more open society. I don’t think kissing in public is a really shameless thing to do, I think it’s alright but there has to be a clear line when too much is too much.

If you’re in a school uniform, obviously it’s best not to do this kind of things because people will have nothing better to do and report you to your school, even worse, get caught in public by one of your teachers, yes… some teachers have a life.

But I mean, if you’re not wearing any clothing that suggests you’re from a particular education facility, I think it should be alright.

Holding hands are also counted PDA’s if you think about it, I don’t see anyone going around taking pictures of that.

This is just my view, leave a comment and share your views.

Singapore is now the 10th most expensive country

SINGAPORE is now the 10th most expensive city in the world for expatriates, having climbed up three places from last year, according to a survey conducted by human resource and financial consultant Mercer.

I’ll agree that living in Singapore is indeed very expensive. Nowadays, $10 won’t last you long, you have your transport and all your other expenses.

What I found was that food takes up much of my allowance. Food out there ain’t cheap, really burns a hole in my pocket when going to eat out, unless you go eat in hawker centre. Even the food court is really expensive, prices can actually compare to fast food outlets.
I guess sooner or later Singapore will continue to move up the list.

Inconsiderate Singaporeans

So you’re in the train and it’s packed as it is during the peak hour. It announces your stop and you are about to get down.

Here is where 1 in 2 scenarios can happen.
1) You try to get down but some people just don’t have the common sense to move to the side to let you out. They expect you to be able to squeeze through the tiny gaps to get off the train. As if taking a step out of the train will cause you to miss it. Some Singaporeans are just so “Kiasu
2) You are about to get off the train, there’s a crowd outside trying to get in. Common sense will tell you that if you are standing outside, give way to the ones trying to get out. I really feel like just standing my ground and knock those aunties out of the way and I’m very sure I’m capable of doing that.
3) Also, the thing that bugs me is when people lean on the grab poles. Like wow, thanks for taking up the entire pole and leave everyone else carrying out a balancing act.
PLEASE LAH! I don’t believe that your arm so weak until you cannot use your hand to support yourself.
It’s a joke when Singapore actually has to make videos like the PCK one to promote the correct way of travelling, what the hell is moral education teaching in school then?
Here’s the last thing that I find really inconsiderate in public.
4) You’re rushing and you get to the escalator and people are standing in pairs, because of that, you’re stuck. I understand couples want to stand next to each other but can’t you just stand in one line? It just takes 1 person to cause the whole lane to be blocked.
